Labyrinth

I'm feeling a little blue. We left the ocean and headed inland, where we thought evenings might be warmer, better for camping. They're not. A trip to the grocery store found us stumbling into surburban hell. The cars, the Walmart... Thankfully (painfully?), they're surrounded by miles of agricultural land- a hundred vineyards and wineries, and some of the best olives imaginable.

If we were home, I'd be looking forward to the New Year's Eve labyrinth walk at St. Mark's. Instead, I'm anxious to head back to the ocean, welcoming the new year without the maze of highways and strip malls. Whew.

Cheers!

I get to be the first to say "HAPPY NEW YEAR!" Year of the Boar (me) and a year closer to the end of conservative idiocy and tyranny. Just as the Jews say of the Holocaust- "let us never forget" Perhaps that wee bit of champagne has made me overly optimistic. However, it sounds like you are having a great time, and the scenery in the pictures is gorgeous. I am hoping that on your way east that you go through Joshua Tree, and Mammoth, and the area around Palm Desert, Palm Springs is truly beautiful in spite of the gross cities. Idlewild! Go! Ride the gondola! Fun! Maybe Mammoth on your way back going north on the 395, up into Trinity National Forest. OK!

Best wishes for your New Year as well! I'm as anxious as anyone for new and improved national leadership, counting the days already. In addtion to not forgetting, I'll stress the importancte of action in response to injustice.

So many parks to visit, sights to see! Thanks for the travel notes- though I'm starting to wonder if we'll ever leave the central coast. We've just been invited to stay at Camp Ocean Pines another month. Time to make some decisions...

Cheers!

OMG!(that's what the kids say) if you have an invitation to stay there for another month and it's not sucking your money away like an industrial shop-vac, then stay stay STAY! Then go east, soak up all the greenery you can, 'cuz once you hit the desert it is going to be a little different. Beautiful in its' own way, but different. And I'm with on some "action" if I were Nancy P. first woman Speaker of da House, the effin' subpoenas be gettin' served up like bloody marys on New Years Day! Hello!? time to sober up to some accountability! 'cuz your party is over!

word, miss hc, Wh'Erd. You've got my vote. Assuming you'll also be revoking the citizen rights currently granted corporations. Maybe the D's need a little time. I bet they're arranging for some subpeona serving and mimosas for Valentine's brunch. Talk about love.

Life here is pretty good- automatic hot water for tea, a Friday farmer's market in town, great people, satisfying work. Still no definate plans for moving on...
