Yesterday, on one of the Oregon coast's last remaining quiet beaches, we stumbled across the ruins of an elaborate sand village. Today, we plan to build our own along the Washington coast.

- We took the time, a year of digging potatoes, dancing in celebration of strangers' birthdays, composting the French-intensive way and camping amongst the rocks. And after the Hare Krishna chants, Barack Obama encounter and mountain lion biology, it seems that we should come home with some fantastic epiphany. We're working on it. We'd do it all again, but for now, our adventures lie in the trials and triumphs of re-establishing our Seattle lives... Bakery and book suggestions are always welcome.

Thanks ladybug! I was hesitant about braving the coast in the high-traffic season, but it was worth it. Deep pockets of beauty and peace if you can get away from the go-cart, carnival crowd!
