The end of the garlic

1 yellow onion
1 bell pepper
5+ stalks celery
1/4 head red cabbage
1 small bunch green chard

basil, celery seed, sea salt
lime juice, tamari, sesame oil
5+ cloves garlic

1 lb rice noodles

Saute onion with salt, herbs until near translucent. Add remaining vegetables, saute until soft. Toss with lime, tamari, oil and fresh, finely minced, raw garlic. Serve over rice noodles.

And that's dinner.
And that's the last of the garlic from Farmhouse Herbs, Deadman's Valley, BC.
And, if we ever get our van back, we can consider returning to the farm next summer to harvest the garlic we helped plant last month.

I didn't know you were still here!! How's is Aslin feeling? What's the latest on the van? THe squirrels? Describe fox urine (smell, appearance pls).
Isn't the snow great -- actually, I should say wasn't--for it is pretty well gone. I have had a couple unexpected days off--which let me have a couple perfect walks--clear, cold, bright.
I will call later.........

Yep, we're here. But not for long. Hopefully. We picked up the van yesterday, so we'll see.
About the squirrels...They seem to vacated. The kids have taken to chasing them with bamboo poles. Ukiah tells me that it's not really inhumane as they are an invasive species anyway- displacing all the native squirrels. The fox urine came from the garden store- it hangs in little bottles with holes cut for circulation. Stinky stuff. I hope you never have to learn more about it.
